ProV 3L stuffer clicking sound

Hi all,

I bought the ProV 3L stuffer from the site shop in the end. It seems sturdy and is finished well but it does make a clicking noise when the plunger is being wound down. Does anyone know if this is normal or is it something I should be concerned about?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
I have the same chinese upright filler but in 5 litre capacity. It makes the same clicking noise. Nothing to worry about. Mine is 3 years old and is used virtually every few weeks with no problems.

Thanks Jan,

I assumed it was just part of the ratchet system but wanted to make sure it wasn't a fault before I started using it regularly. I made my first batch using the stuffer today, it took less then 5 minutes to stuff 2.2kg............. it would have taken half an hour with my grinder. Had a bit of an issue with the taste but that turned out to be a problem with the oven and not the stuffer so all good in the end.. :D

cheers Jan.

PS. How's the weather down there at the moment?

I have just taken dellvery of the pv5 stuffer
What a beast!
Yes the cranking noise did worry me so thanks for reassurance.
Bit of a surprise to find that 65cm is over 2 fet.
Two further worries/observations
Very sharp edges to ss frames so a little time with emery cloth
And any solution to holding the rubber feet in place?

Hi Samwise,
I have never had any trouble with the rubber feet yet, there again, my daughter in law does all the winding for me. She's slim, fit and 6'6"tall and has no trouble at all winding and holding it down.

SteveW. THE WEATHER IS NICE AND BALMY HERE, BETWEEN 33 AND 39 Degrees centigrade and 80% humidity, so, nice and sunny at the moment.

Cheers,
Jan.
