Improving New Equipment

I've just bought a Torrey M22, it amazes me that they tin all the cast iron head unit and the main body is brushed steel but the meat hopper is a dull almost rough sheet of stainless steel.

It felt like it would be difficult to clean so I took it to my local metal workers and they put a 20μ coating of tin on it for me (non-reactive and food safe)

Looks a bit nicer and easier to clean now...

In that first pic, it looked almost porous! Nice tinning job. My little double-tinned #10 Porkert has always been a dream to clean.

Thanks, I agree the original finish was unacceptable (for me anyway!)

I also had my stuffers plunger plate polished too, the difference is unbelievable...
