New Toy - DONER KEBAB MACHINE

Postby hmmm sausages » Thu May 11, 2006 8:21 am

THis is possibly the coolest thing I have ever got!!

Its only a small hald made kebab on there as my mincer broke AGAIN while i was making it, the consistency wasnt that of a kebab, but the taste was lovely and using the machine just makes it all worth while!!

Cant wait to try it with a proper sized, properly prepared kebab!!

hope this works as i always get posting pics wrong lol

ok that didnt work quite as planned. but with that above link you can see every detail of the machine and kebab. the kebab should have been re-minced then shaped which is why it looks a little course

lets try again

REEEEEDUUUUUCCCCE IT!!!

If you have a program like Paint shop pro then go to edit and resize it
the best size is 342 x 273 pixels that is easy to upload and it will not wreck
the forum.

After you have resized it upload it to your picture host and them put the URL
in the last tab on the heading up top..

hmmm sausages, I don't know if you watch the Hairy Bikers Cook Book on BBC2 but if you do you may remember they made a donner kebab a couple of weeks ago. I wrote down the recipe ingredients (from their book) and have a good idea of the method so if you're interested I could post it.

Where did you get the machine?

My favorite doner is made by boning out a leg of lamb, removing all of the silver and fat so you are left with lean muscles. These are part frozen, then sliced across the grain as thin as possible, then marinaded in oil, lemon juice and zest, cumin and corriader seeds fine ground, and chopped garlic. The meat is skewered to make an "elephant leg", grilled and sliced.

& Where did you get the machine :?:

Too many toys, so little kitchen. Ah well.....

(I just bought seven Japanese single-bevel chefs knives and 200 worth of cook books, so I don't think that the wife'd be too chuffed with a kebab machine as well  )
