Could be a bargain

Where to buy, how to use. Stuffers, casings, spices, grinders, etc.

Could be a bargain

Postby pokerpete » Sat May 27, 2006 8:39 pm

On e-bay under 'any other equipment' in the catering section is a cracking old filler/stuffer. Handpainted in green. It's a superb machine.
A free standing hand operated 25lb upright Sell filler.
Keep your eye on it. Could be a great bargain.

It went for 72. A very good bargain. Pity it got no replies on here.

It was enormous! I'm sure it was a bargain but I couldn't have given it house space.

That model is not enormous, it only takes up a floor space of 15x15 inches.

Only if you have 15" x 15" of floor space to bolt it to.

I suspect most people here need a counter top machine, hence the lack of interest in your post.

I've seen hundreds of them in situ, and none were ever bolted to the floor.
The gearing sees to this. When filling had finished, the machine might have been shoved back away from the worktable after washing.

I make batches of 2-5 pounds at a time: a 25 pounder would loose that much in the works.
& I don't have 15"x15" spare in my kitchen: if I did I'd have another freezer.

No probs. It was only a couple of weeks ago that someone posted that they would like a higher capacity filler.
Just trying to help, that's all.

My apologies, I thought that was a floorstanding model you linked to, and if it only had a 15" by 15" footprint I assumed it would be bolted down.

One person asked about a "powered" high capacity filler a couple of weeks ago, I'm not sure why you got upset that you got no response to this link to a hand crank.

I didn't get upset at all, no skin off my nose, in fact if I hadn't retired I would have bought it, had it shot blasted, resprayed in Post Office Red, and flogged it for 400.
That's how I made a living for years.
Never mind.

There have been several stuffer/mincer/fillers in that section on ebay but usually they are huge and need two men to carry them and another thing is they are always for collection only.

This is probably how it got overlooked....I myself check ebay every day for various items being a part of my life now...

No doubt it was a bargain if you are geared to that sort of thing but how much would it set back an ordinary home sausage maker like one of us.

A bargain is only a bargain to those in the know in a case like this.

Dunno. Just look at my post date on Sunday, and find it from there.

I don't know how much space people have, no doubt it varies a lot.
Anyway, if someone is not sure. Post up on Equipment & Supplies, and I'll try to help. That's what we do best on Sausagemaking.
