Sudden problem with Electric Mincer FW 2684

Where to buy, how to use. Stuffers, casings, spices, grinders, etc.

Sudden problem with Electric Mincer FW 2684

Postby luddite_jean » Sun Sep 03, 2006 8:28 pm

I bought one of the above mentioned mincer/stuffers about a year ago, made a couple of batches of sausages with it, then it was unused for around 8 months due to illness.

This week, I tried to use it again (after re-cleaning), but all it does to the meat is to 'churn' it. Very little comes through the mincer plate, in fact. more is extruded from around the back of the screw ring which holds the mincer plate on (even though it's as tight as I can get it). The meat was a mixture of belly pork and shoulder pork, which I've used before.

I took it apart, regreased the parts and tried again, with exactly the same results.

I can't figure out what the problem is - anyone come across this problem and managed to solve it?

Hi Jean,

Under the heading New Manual Grinder Issues in the Equipment and supplies section you may find an explanation even though your's is an electric grinder.
