Casing Length Calculator Program

Where to buy, how to use. Stuffers, casings, spices, grinders, etc.

I guess it's been a while since I made sausage.
I just finished a batch of Knackwurst and here's the results
2.115 Kg pork, spices and water used 8' of what was supposed to be 29-32 casings, but measured 34-35 with 2 links came in at 32mm and a couple at 38mm

So I'm not sure if it helps at all. I have another barch to do later today and maybe have better luck with the sizes.

Second batch was 2.065 Kg of Italian sausage with water and spices, and this casing was in the 29-32 range.
9'-8" or 300cm. and they were pack fairly tight.

Thanks Dan. Those look fine sausages. You've obviously not lost the touch.

Is this file available for a re-upload. I tried to download it but it's not available now.

It's well out of date, so it'll probably ring all sorts of antivirus alarms, but here's a zip file with it in:

Phil

No warning whatsoever, everything was fine. I notice there was talk of updating the software to include the various casing sizes, was that ever done. This version doesn't show anything about sizes , only the two types, Hog or sheep.

Thanks

I started gathering info on various casing sizes, but my health keeps getting in the way of catching up with these things.

Hi Phil,

I wasn't sure what had happened if it was just a case of receiving an older version, hence the question. Grateful to have received what I did, take care of yourself first. I was hit with a surprise gift right at Christmas and wasn't aware until I arrived at Emergency and being told I'd had a heart attack. Well to be honest 3 of them over the prior three days based upon the symptoms I gave them. Spent all Christmas and Hogmany in hospital then off for 5 stents, I didn't like the idea of major surgery and the recovery time.

Hey gang.... I know this is an old thread but like many I find myself preparing either too much or too little casing. It 'doesn't seem as though any of the links still function. Would anyone happen to still have a copy of this program?

Use this link to download it - it'll be there for a couple of days only though. Right click the link and use 'save link as'.

Don't click the link! Put your mouse on the link and then 'right click it' i.e. click the RH mouse button. Ab selection list will appear - select "Save link as...". You will then be able to save it to your computer.
