Spare parts for fw 2684

Postby Hobbitfeet » Sun Mar 13, 2005 12:14 pm

Does any one know where I can get a replacement spiral for the above? I've taken a chip out of my old one. Are there any smaller filler tubes available for the 2684 other than the one it came with? Thanks

Spares for FW 2684

Yes, I was wondering about spares for this machine too. Is it possible to buy coarser mincer plates than the one supplied?

I have parts available for the mincer let me know which you require, unfortunately the only plates available for the mincer are the ones supplied.

Thanks Franco, I will as soon as possible. I was thinking though...I am going to try adapting the smaller of the two supplied grinding plates (which I don't use) by drilling out aand increasing the size of the holes. I'll let you know if it works or not. :?

If you do that - make sure the flat side of the plate is 100% smooth, otherwise you will ruin your cutting knife. To get it 100% smooth, you may well need the facilities of an engineering firm.

dear Franco,

Do you by any chance have an instruction leaflet for the FW2684. My wife has thrown mine away so I am having to set up the blades and plates by guesswork.

Cheers

Hobbitfeet, we use the filling tubes supplied with the Porkert No. 5 (I think), you get 3 tubes in the kit and they fit perfectly.

Hi
there is a note about sharpening blades elseswhere on this site which will help with smoothing the blades. Roughly its to use fineer and finer emery paper on a flat glass sheet

As a woodworker, I sharpen my own chisels.

If you want a flat, smooth surface on your newly drilled cutter plates, you could buy the finest whetstone (oil type) you can find quite cheaply in a DIY store.

Good luck.
Sandy.
