looking for plastic bags for putting 5lbs sausage that is in hog casing . something that will not leak. anybody have any ideas? trying too keep cost down .

Where are you? Aside from the obvious make your own vac-pack bags, there are 2- and 3-gallon ziplock bags, now, that would handle 5 lbs of links, or even a coil. I've used them to marinate dry rub ribs on the go, and had no problems with leaks.
