Looking for a good Sausage Stuffer?

Postby HandCannon32x » Tue Jan 03, 2012 4:45 am

Im looking into buying a sausage stuffer. 5 Pound sausage stuffer. I have found many, many of them but which one works the best, last the longest? I have been really looking at the Lem 5lb Vertical stuffer. How is that one compared to others? Thanks

A lot would depend on where you live. shipping can be expensive.
I'd have to say they all work about the same but look for one with metal gears, the nylon ones can break when to much force is applied.

The LEM is a very good stuffer, and does have metal gears.

Sausagemaker has a deluxe 5 lb. stuffer that is super nice, but nearly twice the price.

I paid $75 for the Grizzly 5 lb...... it's worked very well for me in spite of the the nylon gears.
My intent is to replace the nylon gears with metal ones from LEM if they ever break.

The LEM stuffer is a good value for the money. That said, I've been using a 5-lb vertical stuffer with nylon gears for years with absolutely no problems.

I have the 15 pounder from Northern Tool. It works well and has metal gears. I think the 5 pounder has plastic gears.

The Lem 5 pounder looks a little expensive. Yes you get the metal gears, but it's twice the price of the Northern 5 pounder. I'd probably buy the Northern 15 pounder for around $210 versus the Lem 5 pounder for around $140.
