Vertical v's Horizontal Stuffer

Where to buy, how to use. Stuffers, casings, spices, grinders, etc.

Vertical v's Horizontal Stuffer

Postby FarmBaby » Fri Jan 06, 2012 12:45 am

Hi,

Which is the better stuffer, horizontal or vertical. I plan to use it a fair bit and ideally it would be a one person job. If $ etc was not a concern, what is the best sausage stuffer around?

A vertical uses up less table top. All will work one hand on the crank and the other on the casing, but get a helper things work very smoothly then. IMHO

FarmBaby,
Have a look on E-Bay.au. There are many different brands available. Choose one with stainless stuffing tubes (my opinion) instead of plastic type tubes.
Before using any of these stuffers, do oil the piston seal.
Make sure the seller carries seals and other parts for their machines.
Negotiate for some free seals.
I am in Brisbane..
Regards,
Jan.

G'day Farm Baby,
I can highly recomend this filler, I have this one and I use it regulary with no problems or dramas, it comes in three different sizes so one is sure to suit your needs, it is also easy to use by yourself or with a helper.

I went for the 7L for the price difference I thought I might as well get the larger size.
