Induction Hob (Cheap!)

A quick 'heads up' for UK members. Amazon have the 'Andrew James' induction hob on offer at £24.95:

Mine only arrived today, so I can't say one way or the other whether it's any good, but I thought that it was worth a punt for £25!

Good spot

This one

Is even cheaper

Wonder if they would let me use it in the works kitchen (currently only kettle and microwave so limited cooking options)

I have a single plate one installed in my kitchen next to the gas hob, The gas is now largely unused unless I need multiple pans.

They are great !! For low simmering especially. And at the other extreme as a chip pan.

I also take a portable one camping :)

Get one with as many temperature settings as possible. They can take a while to get used to as they measure the temperature at the surface of the glass/pan, so depending on the thickness of the pan and the thickness of the inductable layer the temperature of the food can vary, but you get used to which pans work best, or at what temperature setting you need. That's why having 20 deg C steps can be a bit frustrating, eg: if it won't simmer at 100, 120 can be a bit too vigorous.
Curing is not an exact science... So it's not a sin to bin.
