Reber vacuum packer- help please

Postby piglet » Fri Sep 30, 2005 6:14 pm

Urgent help needed please. We have just received Franco's Reber vacuum packer and it has arrived complete with a european rounded 2 pin plug. We really need to use it tonight. My question is - is it safe to cut off the existing plug and fit a standard british one? We live in the far reaches of darkest Aberdeenshire, no chance of easily getting whatever converter is needed. Help please!

thanks

Hi Piglet,

you should have been sent an adaptor with your order, I'll give Steph a kick on Monday :shock: , it's safe to cut the plug off and replace it with a standard UK one.

I'll send you some seasonings free by way of an apology.

Thanks

thanks Franco for your quick reply, I know you were waiting for them to arrive, easily done to miss something in haste to complete customer's order.

Franco are you sure it's a 13 A fuse?

Suction capacity:

10 dm3/min;

max. Vacuum (depression): -800 mbar;

max. Absorbed power: 300W;

Power absorbed by air pump: 120W.

This looks to me, that the wattage for the machine is 420 W

So;

Amps = watts / voltage

Amps = 420 / 250 = 1.68 A

So a 3 Amp fuse would be better I think.
