Does anyone use bacon grease to add fat to sausage recipes?

I've never done it, I just use either pork belly or beef fat. You might use the bacon grease for cooking other foods, though.

I wouldn't as I feel that it would have the same effect as the mix being too hot and the fat smearing.

Any fat that renders out from my bacon I cook with. Popping up a batch of popcorn in bacon grease is all kinds of fabulous, and grilled asparagus with just a little bacon grease drizzled over it is to die for.
