3 litre Smokai CSG

Hi, has anyone got/seen/used the 3 litre Smokai CSG?

We are building another smokehouse (volume 36m3) and wondered if this was a practical option for day to day use without the fire risk of lighting up properly in the firebox.

Views and experience much appreciated.

You are the second person to say they have made one of these. Sounds fascinating

A friend of mine bought one of these in New Zealand awhile back. It's works very well.
I have had the large "Alec Upfold" Ventura Super 4 smoking attachment (made in NZ as well) for a few years now in constant use.
By comparison the Alec Upfold models are made with a heavier gauge of stainless and the Super 4 model has an adjustable air intake, which I find great!!
The reason I bought the Ventura Super 4 was that it is also suitable for very large smoke houses if needed in future and is easy to change around various smokehouses if so required.
Ultimately it all comes down to personal choice but there are quite a few Ventura models being used here
without any problems.

As you might imagine, my spaghetti jar was for light domestic use only I long since mothballed it to use the ProQ CSG.

Thing is, I make a lot of things - made the barn, made the curing rooms, made the kitchen and even made the smokehouse. I currently have four drums waiting to be made into UDS's - sometimes its just really nice to buy something (especially if its a good bit of kit and not too dear) and just worry about having to switch it on.

I felt the same about the sous vide machines.

Bit of a cop out, I know, but life does seem (selectively )quite short sometimes
