Awesome, pizza conversion on a weber?

Was it easy to build? Would come in very handy should we have a decent summer (fingers crossed)

I hasten to add it's not my idea, it's based on this: http://www.kettlepizza.com/?gclid=CNjuo ... tAodpScA_w

Although I hope my final design will overcome a few of the shortcomings of the original ;)

Essentially it's just a sheet of stainless steel with a slot cut in it :)

Try getting a stainless steel disc for both the top and bottom racks with the top almost to the edge and the bottom one a bit smaller. The bottom rack could have a stone instead. Envy here. :D

Thanks. I've got a 3mm thick mild steel 54.5cm disk coming for the top (couldn't afford stainless  ) and a 38cm stone on order for the bottom. I'm not sure whether to high temperature paint the steel or just keep it oiled with vegetable oil: any suggestions?

I wouldn't use paint. You'll have this heated past the rating for it. Shopping for that infrared thermometer yet? :D

Thanks, I'll just use the iron pan approach then :)

I already have an infra red thermometer :D

I think I'll have a go at this for the summer - gotta love gadgets and addons!

Rustoleum do a high temp paint that may be suitable...let me do a quick google...

EDIT - here you go! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rustoleum-Hea ... 0830684410

I'd love to know how you did this. Seen a couple of videos on youtube where people have made there own. Kettle pizza is way overpriced for what it is in my opinion.
Great job.

Nice bird there saucisson. I bet you would find that you don't even need water in there, just a heat shield for indirect heat, and you can control the temperature with the vents.
