collection of cheap rotisseries, any good for cold smoker?

Wombling around the garage I realised that for some peculiar reason some years ago I'd picked up a handful of B&Q rotisserie add on's for some of their bbq's (possibly for use as a halloween props) :?

Question therefore is: any use turning these from d cell battery operated into mains running, or possibly simply create mounts to create "holding racks" which may be turned (hopefully) easier than lifting foodstuffs out by hand & changing edges (eg cheese blocks) ?

pie in the sky, easy work made harder?

Is a deep(ish) rotisserie holding rack easily available & cost effective in order to flip & be done, or am I missing the point here?
I have no intention of buying d cells they ain't cheap, ...I am!

You could hook them up to a 3V transformer with a bit of soldering, probably get them off Ebay for <£5. Possibly a bit more if you wanted to run a number of them from a single transformer.

Thanks, that bit of rummaging revealed 5 (had more) rotisserie sets (£3 the lot) 3 of which are able to take adapters, ...which from the planning stage should be easier to implement & make good seals.

whilst i'm thinking does anyone have any objections to silicone sealant used within a build, if it's ok then i'll consider making up some bung holes which can take the rotisserie rods through & still hopefully maintain an effective smoke seal. (if all comes good).
