HI,has anyone got a recipe for smoking fresh mussels.

but they taste so good cooked fresh,some of faves


Do you have access to a large cheap supply you want to preserve or just want to try homemade smoked ?

i have a supplier who i purchase from have over ordered this time so going to pickle some and smoke some.we will eat some fresh they arrive this wednesday

I'd just put them on the (hot) smoker until they open and then eat them. I can't see any other safe way of doing it.

I think that a fruit wood may be the best. If not - beech.

tried steam cooked to open, pickled some jars, smoked several kg, all turned out well ,will order some more later,

Look up L’Eclade de Moules - stack mussels hinge side up on a bed of pine needles, cover with more needles, and set fire to the lot. Can also be done with hay.
