Smoked breakfast sausage has anyone else tried this

This past weekend we took our local Boy Scout troop out for the annual Boy Scout
Rendezvous. In spite of the fact we got rained out Saturday evening (60 mph
winds and rain) it was a good trip. We took a GOSM smoker and two nice size butt
roasts. They smoked from mid morning until mid afternoon. I made 10 lbs of my
own special blend of pork breakfast sausage stuffed into 2 fibrous casings. We
used one for breakfast. The second roll we decided to put in the GOSM about 4
hours before the butts were to be done. The butts were excellent along with a
nice pot of uncovered beans that we had in the smoker as well. The roll of
sausage was also a winner it had a nice smoke flavor.I'm sure this has been
tried before but a first for me it won't be the last time. We finished a fine
meal just as the storm rolled in.
