Gas grill

Hey guys new to the forum. I'm in the process of building a new smoker now I've been leaning towards propane for my heat source and i was wonder if anyone had any advice as to where to go for parts like valve control. I was thinking about just modding a BBQ gas valve to use to control the temp in the smoker. Any advice for diy gas smoker would be great.

Gas is the way to go IMHO, look for discarded BBQ's and scavange the control valves etc from them, you might even find a side burner that can be used. the main burners are usually corroded away, but most stores carry replacement burners. Good luck

Thanks for the tip. I was digging around for some bbq equipment and found a Bayou Classic SP10 for pretty cheap so Im thinking about mounting that into the smoker.

If you put your location in your profile it will help people. This forum is worldwide but has a UK leaning.
