ProQ's easy and cost effective cold smoking system

ProQ's easy and cost effective cold smoking system

Postby Ruralidle » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:33 am

ProQ have just introduced a cold smoking chamber that uses the ProQ CSG that many of us have used successfully in our own versions of a smoking chamber.

It is basically a cardboard box with shelving and so long as you keep it dry it should do the job. I could really do with some smoked cheese, smoked nuts and smoked garlic so I will let you know as soon as I have had a chance to try it out.

They're also selling the Redi-Chek® Wireless Remote Smoker Thermometer:

A brilliant bit of kit for hot smoking.

You are quiite correct, LemonD, but I have opened my delivery from ProQ today and, as well as the cardboard box, the kit comes with a couple of metal drip trays and three chrome racks to sit the produce on. The kit, at £55, includes a £30 CSG and some smoking dust so, as a quick and easy way to get into cold smoking, it doesn't look too expensive. I just need to wait for a night without rain before I can see how it works :D.
