synthetic casing size

I bought some casings that are too big. Is there a way of cutting them and resealing the casings to make them smaller?

I assume that you mean too long, if so, just tie them off at the length you want or clip them off using an hog ring.

Given that string is more readily available than hog rings, you'll probably want to do the former. In which case this might help:

In that case, IMO no.

Unless you are using them for whole muscles, I can't see any way of getting a good seal.

You could use them to wrap a bresaola or similar.
