Managed to find an OK 6ft synthetic butcher's block on a fairly decent aluminium table for my man-cave (some would call it a man-mansion as I am building an kitchen in a corner of the barn).
Anyway said butcher's block needs a good clean as it's been in someone else's barn for many years. The top is made from a hard, synthetic, but almost wood-like material that's deeply cut from previous use. I'm inclined to skim the top with an orbital sander then give it a really good scrub. Any idea what is the cleaning chemical of choice as it needs to do a proper job without tainting the meat?
Thanks
Philip
