I made one of those a few weeks back, or a variant of it called
'drowned baby'... Apparently so called because it was Admiral Nelson's favourite pudding, and was cooked the old fashioned way in a cloth bound each end, which looked not unlike a burial at sea... Whether this is true doesn't matter, cos the addition of rum and cinnamon really did make it rather nice.. I must however, own up to covering it with custard from a... carton
