CANNED BACON ?????

Greetings and felicitations. Several of old cronies this side of the pond, are doing the nostalgia thing, remembering when we could get canned bacon from Tulip, as emergency rations for home, or in the field. Or as a salt hit over the campfire for breakfast on fishing/hunting trips.
It went away from our market some time back.
There are rumours that your TESCO carries it. One fellow even posted that he saw some in Bermuda. Several unconfirmed rumours are out there RE: sightings in Alaska state.
Is this stuff still out there somewhere? Thanks. Best, KD
PS: I think I spotted some on a Polish web site, but the logistics of requesting a food store here, to order from there, is probably a non-starter.

Hi, Dave......Sketchy details. here is an image from a USA food site..... I imagine the tin over there would look much the same.
I will now be be guilty of posters to various threads on this food item:
Goll-EE, I saw some of that stuff in a store in some state somewhere...I liked it. I think it's still up in Alaska.
I used to get it in a store in California. I saw it on a shelf once at the K-mart. Gee, I loved that stuff on a campfire. ...etc. etc. etc.
The Tulip brand we used to get here, was in the same sort of tin as the image. Raw, salty, fatty, but fun !!! Best, KD

Hi Ken D, here in Barnsley our local Costcutter stocks bacon in a tin although its packaged in a flat tin, much the same as say, tinned pilchards.

I'll buy a tin, photograph it, scan it and upload the image for you if you wish?
