Somerset apple mix from sausagemaking.org

Hi all,

I have just brought the Somerset apple mix from sausagemaking.org and when it came I noticed it was pre mixed with rusk. I guess i was expecting to use it like the other mixes and use 25g - 50g. I've been trying to work out how i can add to the mix so i can make a few kg's instead of 1.5kg.

I came up with this and want to get your views to see if you think it will work or i will mess everything up.

brought mix = 150g (inc rusk) per KG

My extended mix

100g rusk
25g Trad Pork spice
25g dried apple

You think this will work close to the same? I have been looking but can't seem to find a pork and apple mix on here i can use.

Personally I'd go 75g on the rusk and add more (50g) of the dried apple.

I'm surprised it came pre-mixed with rusk though, considering the price of it is the same as other mixes that don't have rusk.

Me too... the breadcrumb mix states how much to use but this didn't, I've droped a mail to ask them to update the web site.

Thanks for the tip I will go source some dried apple today.
