You got any photos. I bought a pump yesterday and was gonna have a go over the weekend. Where are you positioning the bean can, are you ducting the smoke into the smoker, or is it in the smoker. Is it cooler or hotter than the soldering iron on its own, chips or sawdust?
I place my bean can under the brinkmann (stood on a brick to lift it above the bottom of the main chamber) if I brough the air in through the side I guess I could use your method quite easily. The pain in the a**e bit about that way is that to add more wood I have to lift the smoker off the bean can. I was looking to find a way of sealing the bean can and "injecting" the smoke through the shaft of an old golf club I cut up last night. I actually tried drilling down the length of a threaded bar last night so I could use that to put the smoke in, not as easy as it sounds!
The other downside to my brinkmann is that the bottom is of course open, on a windy the smoke just gets whipped out from underneath rather than rising, I have to wrap it with an old duvet cover to keep the wind out.
Sorry for going on!
