I had something like this in mind when I started, but it is not easy to find. Did all the stores, but now a days they have a plastic window so you can look inside from the outside, while shopping for it, I found my Ssteel utensil holder. To give some of you an idea...in the past there were cans like this for tea and coffee, a bit lower then the one from Dave, but excellent to use and there comes a good cover with it. Probably garage sales still offer them :!:

I am updating my site, I know I said I would close it, but I promised before that I would update, and a promise is a promise to me. At the end of the site I will give some hints to simplify things and give possible OTHER setups to cold smoke that will cost you almost nothing......

Edit: Two of you posted while I was writing this :D

I think Big Dog is getting impatient

Thanks Hoggy, I'll check out your site now.

I wanted to close off the top of my system to stop flair ups, as I suffered from one when I tried a log burn last week. The pasta pot seemed a perfect starting material. But if I'm setting it up again I will try to mount it externally with a condenser into a water sump/valve to test that idea out. (My wife will kill me, but these risks have to be taken...)

water filtered.

I was doing some research and I came across some cold smoke generators that actually filtered the smoke through the water. The purpose was to cool the smoke as well as remove partials and creosol.

Perhaps we ought to take another look at the bong technology

I'm just assembling my pipework now, I'll make sure a bubbler can be incorporated.

Another member of the site (I won't name him, just in case) has managed to get his hands on a couple of short lengths of 4" diameter stainless steel tube, keep your eyes open for more designs. Off to the Office tomorrow and will hopefully collect it, will swap it for a 1/4 hank hog casings, some smoked bacon cure and half a bag of rusk.

Been a bit out of touch recently, what are the thoughts on the bubbler/bong idea? Will you lose aroma in the water, or just nasties??

I'm sure there's a stall on the market that sells bongs!

AFE - Not sure which hole you refer to, depending on the size you could buy a hole saw, fits on an electric drill, a central bit guides the alignment and then an outer serrated blade cuts the hole.

Here it is, photo on it's side, sorry. Bottom bottle has an inner feeder tube going halfway down inside so acts as a condensor, or, if half filled with water, a bubbler

Allforumemail, for me it is also not clear which hole, but you could use a drill with a small mesh and drill a lot of holes on the perimeter ?

Dave, I don't understand you setup, is the pasta can your CSG ?
