Cold Smoking problem

Found the problem the shavings must had gotten wet opened a bag of hickory chips stored next to it , it also has the same musty smell but looks fine if you look at it . In future I will store my shavings where they can't get wet. Did a batch of Bratwurst yesterday with some fresh chips and they came out great using the same method.So you learn, BTW the dogs loved the ribs.

Shame about the wasted shavings, but at least you know where the problem was.
