Pork Pie topping

Postby welsh wizard » Wed Jul 23, 2008 10:02 am

Ok my sausage chums I have a question - yep another one

I have been asked to make a Pork Pie wedding cake in the traditional 3 tier way. I was thinking of topping one with cranberry, one with pickle and the other with apricots. Or I would be most grateful for any other ideas.

DOes anyone have a recipe for topped pork pies? I cant seem to find one anywhere........

Cheers WW

No recipes but some ideas, in no particular order:

Rhubarb with rhubarb chutney

Apple tart tatin topping (or slices of citrus prepared in the same way)

Quiche topping

Stilton and toasted walnut balls

Glazed roasted cherry tomatoes

Dave

PS, for the top (smallest tier) for the wedding theme, how about white currants? Depending how they come out of the oven of course :)
Curing is not an exact science... So it's not a sin to bin.

Great hams, from little acorns grow...
