To Batman's query on how long the batteries last, mine lasted about 8 hours. After that I found an old step down transformer in my junk box and have hooked that up in place of the batteries.
New to the forum and have rec'd my porky pa from the states.
Have attached to a metal dustbin and had a go at smoking. The eggs and cheese turned out very tasty but they did sweat !!
What kind of ventilation shopuld I be using? So far I have just propped open the lid a little to provide some. Any ideas? Pics?
Next question, has anyone found a reasonable source for the smoking pellets? Has anyone used chippings? Am nearly out of the ones supplied and really want to get some more smoking done.
I believe they do various sizes of chips. I was amazed - 15kg of Beech or Oak chips for 6.80. You would need to be near enough to collect them though as the postage is a killer!
I might have to do a trip Have you got a link to their website? I'm struggling a bit to find it. Problem is these days it will be about 20 in petrol.
They close at 1:00pm on Friday and are closed on Saturdays, I have called them before when I was going over to Cambridge. They used to have their catalogue as a pdf on a website but maybe they have dropped their web presence.
I'm sure I bought from him via Ebay(.com) but looks like he sells directly now. Just to say that shipping and communication with him was good and I've used the smoking unit quite a few times with good success.
Im currently selling the Porky Pas Smoke Daddy directly. If you are interested in one Email me at Fiddler252@msn.com and let me know what size you would like. I can send you a Pay pal invoice or I will accept a money order also. Im not using Ebay at this time Please visit my web site Porky Pa http://porkypas.com
All the best - Ian

Hi Group Im back on ebay I have made a small change to the air output. I think it gives you better control of the air flow and will protect the pump from back pressure. Not that I was having trouble with the old way. I had a conversation with someone that knows about this type of small pump and suggested I try it this way for better results and to protect the pump. I tried it and I agree. If anyone has one it is an easy add on. Just email me and I will explain. Either way Im very happy with the response I have been getting on the Smoke Daddy and plan on continuing to make them. http://porkypas.com
