I beg to differ DrS, it's the one they fit to their gas barbecues. That's why it's calibrated up to 288 deg C. People have been quite ingenious at getting it to fit http://virtualweberbullet.com/moretherm.html
The food one available here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... d_i=468294 goes up to 110 deg C.
That said the one you linked to would be much better for the purpose, because you can bolt it in place and forget it.
