Sausage tree/Worsboom Kigelia africana.Growing in the greenbelt infront of my home.Fruit can grow up to 10 kg, not a good tree to relax and have a beer under.

What do they taste like - I'm assuming they are not like boerewors. :D

The fruit is used for remedies and the seed from ripe fruits can be roasted and eaten.The large maroon flowers are eaten by stock or game once they fall off.
