Venison - where from??

Postby covlocks » Tue Dec 14, 2010 9:48 pm

I want to make some venison sausages - but can't find anywhere local for venison supplies.

I am on the outskirts of Coventry - can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Thankfully a lot of good butchers now stock venision so give them a try. If not google BASC (British Association of Shooting and Conservation) they may well have a list of game dealers in your area.

I'd suggest that you ask around your butchers, pubs, shoots etc. But if all else fails you could try;

Somewhat dearer than most people would like to pay though!

Just a thought - have you tried Coombe Abbey? Don't they have deer?

They do have deer there - but I think someone may notice if one of them goes missing or is hobbling around with a walking stick next morning

Presumably they must cull them occasionally though?
