Hi Franco, Thanks for the reply, what I'm really looking for is a forum similar to this one but for cheese I�ve only managed to find one but it�s very poor.

When I first started this site I nearly startred a cheesemaking one instead, selling moulds, rennet and presses etc. I decided in the end that there was probably more interest in sausages and salami than meat :lol:

I still intend to do a cheesemaking site in the not too distant future so I'll keep you posted.

I know this topic is getting old now,
but I just wanted to add that I find that cheesemaking merchant (cheesemaking.co.uk) a bit expensive and their
shipping costs were quite high too

I'd check out a Smallholding Supplier, there are a few on the net,
many sell rennet and moulds, etc. at a lower price and of course they would
also sell milking equipment :D and yoghurt making supplies if you want to get into it like that.

Funnily enough... I intend on making some within the next week or so,

Talking of cheese........

I did lay claim to be one of the most sought after amatuer cheesemakers in the UK a few years ago.

I had a website which was visited by thousands worldwide and if you punch into google my nom de plume of LIMEY RIK you will find many references to my claims.

I had a great friend and mentor who died very suddenly of cancer who was one of the greatest Affineurs this country has ever seen...known affectionately to all as James he was world famous as a cheese affineur and his cheeses had no rivals.

Tornegus was James Aldrige's speciality cheese I don't know if any of his family still produce it but I think the secrets died with him.

Shortly after his death my service provider NTL in their wisdom obliterated my website. A young female employee was given the job of removing all the old dial up systems from their books and for some reason she removed my website.....just like that ......pages and pages and irreplacable material and photos were gone into cyberspace forever.

AND NOT EVEN A B**** APOLOGY.

I had all my backup disc but for some reason they would not or could not be recognised by my windows system and to be honest I was so p**sed off with NTL that I lost a lot of my enthusiasm and it would take weeks to reproduce the technical infomation on all the cheeses....but I do have hard printouts of the website plus invaluable notes on James Aldridges.
work which he allowed me to use as I wished.

As they say the moving finger writes and having writ moves on......
