Madeleines - my first attempt...

Postby Cedaronics » Fri Mar 23, 2012 10:28 pm

I was watching Rachel Khoo on tv the other other night (sorry, no link), and was taken by the loveliness of the madeleines she made.

So I got myself a madeleine tray and had a bash myself!

Here are the results! ok for a first timer, I think.

Just something I fancied doing. Not sausage-related, I know.

All the best to all,

Thanks. I think they're best eaten, perhaps, with some jam (we have homemade raspberry jam) and a tea or coffee.

[Tip: I melted a bar of chocolate into a glass bowl with the intention of dipping the cakes into the chocolate, but this didn't work out - it wa too shallow. Short of putting the chocolate into some other narrower container, I held each one of the cakes and used a spoon to pour the chocolate over the ends of the cake.]
