Well sometimes you don't wnat to grind and stuff. Sometimes you just have to stick a piece of metal into a piece of meat.
I always hated the skewers that were rod-like. Being round, the meat and vegetable rotated around the skewer. I've owned the flat Raichlen skewers for quite some time now, and they're perfect. Nothing rotates.

I own and have used all three (in the Big Green Egg). You can even skewer steaks on the wide ones, which are like little swords. I've used each thickness in different ways. Also, they're shiny. At least at first.
A note of caution: they're available on multiple web-sites. When I bought them, the cheapest source (and with free delivery) was US Amazon. That may no longer be true, so if you want them, please shop around.
