We all know that we can't buy competitively priced offset smoker bbq's with any decent quality made in the UK.
There's the odd second hand 'Cactus Jack' that fetches £300-£400 on ebay (around $500), but no real market. It seems that we need to build them ourselves.
I would be grateful if members would help with this one.
What sort of price would you expect to pay for a decent offset bbq with reverse flow? Say, something made with 400 - 500 diameter tube with a 5-6mm (¼ inch) wall, for home use? That's a serious piece of kit!
Or, for that matter, what demand would there be for a commercial trailer type bbq like this:
...and what would it be worth paying?
I have a contact who could 'build them in his sleep' in terms of the skills required. But he needs to assess the market, before spending money to start production.
Anything help will be appreciated.
