Seriously though, sweet seems to be a theme. Mainly just wondered if there is anything unusual out there that people have got really smitten with.
BriCan wrote:vagreys and I was talking the other night about things like this it all came about from something I saw on Facebook (to do with bacon), my idea was to do a apple pie with a caramel sauce (I do this a lot of times) and as a twist add maple bacon bits to the mix. vagreys idea was to do a pear that had been glazed with a sweet sauce with maple bacon bit incorporated .. my comment was this is too sweet it needs something to make it pop or in a sense "I want more, I want more" at the present everything is sweet (nowt rong wiv that) but if you add a twist you can and will put it over the top
My thoughts was to add a burst of lemon and in talking to vagreys I described it as a 'sweet and sour ' thing or in other words a yin and yang so we came up with a lemon sugar that could be sprinkled on so that one would/will get a sudden burst of the sour along with the sweet.
