Pork supplier? West London (Uxbridge, Slough, Oxford, etc)

Postby cannyfradock » Sun Jan 26, 2014 12:44 pm

Hi Guys

Would any members/staff know of any pork suppliers in the South London area?. This info is not for myself and I have passed on the Sausagemaking website and forum link to him. As you guys have always come up trumps for me in the past with help with sausagemaking, curing and my attempt at Pochetta di testa...viewtopic.php?f=4&t=5561 ....I thought I would ask first for advice.

He is looking to buy perhaps a half pig and/or even a full "porker" belly for home cured streaky/speck. His own butcher won't sell him sausage casings and told him full joints of pork will cost him a lot more per Kilo than shop prices. (I think he's picked the wrong butcher myself).

Can anybody help?

Many thanks...

Terry

Hi Terry
Quietwatersfarm do mail order :) and I think your friend has chosen the wrong butcher! Just don't let QWF sell you the pigs I want at the end of Feb - IF they are big enough!

I shall pass the info on to "Spinal"......(unless you beat me to it. This is the thread.. http://ukwoodfiredovenforum.proboards.c ... d/1690/hog )

I think "Quietwatersfarm" has also helped me on this forum.

Many thanks...

Terry
