Picked some things out of the garden today between the rain and wind











I see Salsa, plenty of ABT's and green tomato mince meat being made this week.

If we don't get frost on the weekend I'll have another picking at least.

maybe next year. Its now hunting season, so I am busy with collecting a few bambi, garden clean up. then sausage making is way down the list.

Its finally over. I picked 5 more pails yesterday and last night we had a killing frost. Thank god. Now I can start planning for next year. LOL

I planted Jalapenos in the hope to make chipotles.

They've been in the ground for 6+ months and I haven't got even 1 off them yet.

I'm a bit jealous looking at that haul

I did manage to make some very nice sauce witch my habaneros though, which grew much better.

jalapenos are so plentiful in these parts,
i dont bother to grow them......

my nieghbors happily trade there chilis for my roma toms....


we always have to compost a kilo or so, after we have used all we can..

Dad plants seeds in late September AFL Grand final
he has heaps by December and he is in Melbourne(colder than Sydney)
I never pull mine out chillis, in the ground for well over as year, nearly 2 and still producing (Subtropics Qld.)

I was given a chilli plant in a tub last year which provided copious amounts of chillies well into November. Following advice from the forum, I left it to die back for the winter rather than throw it on the compost. I checked it yesterday and it's producing chillies again, so I'm looking forward to another good year from it. I keep it indoors in the conservatory.
