I mostly use mine for hot smoking. Here's some pics of it.
Just make sure it has no plastic inside. Some newer fridges are all plastic inside. The one I found was metal inside, except for the door trays and the corners. I removed those pieces and replaced them with pieces of aluminum.
If it still works as a fridge I would leave that intact. Might come in handy for salami curing or cold smoking in the summer.
Be careful drilling holes that you don't puncture a refrigeration line. If the drill bit hits something shallower than what should be the inside wall - stop and drill over or up or down about an inch.
